Position Overview

Noland Health Services is seeking a dedicated Practical Nursing Specialist to join our team on a Per Diem (PRN) basis. This role is essential in delivering high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their well-being and comfort in accordance with established care plans and nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents, ensuring seamless communication with the team.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents to monitor their physical and emotional health.
  • Guide Nursing/Resident Care Assistants in their duties and escalate any concerns to the Resident Care Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Record nursing notes in a clear, informative manner that reflects the care provided and residents' responses.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues related to resident care with the Resident Care Coordinator.
  • Verify and execute physician orders accurately.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments on all assigned residents during each shift.
  • Communicate effectively with oncoming staff regarding residents' conditions and any significant occurrences during the shift.
  • Engage with physicians, residents, families, and nursing staff to share critical information regarding residents' health and potential changes.
  • Deliver direct care to residents as necessary, adhering to care plans and nursing standards.
  • Participate in additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a current license as a Practical Nurse.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • CPR certification required within the first month of employment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday.
  • Capability to reach, bend, and stoop as needed.
  • Must possess adequate vision and hearing, with or without prosthetics, to perform job functions effectively.
  • Ability to lift, push, or move a minimum of 100 pounds using proper techniques.
  • Willingness to stand or walk for the majority of the workday.
  • Capacity to manage the mental and emotional demands of the role.
