Nursing Education Lead Instructor (Tenure Track)

Overview:

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in Nursing Education. The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering the State Testing Nurse Aid curriculum, alongside practical skills and clinical training in alignment with ODH standards. Responsibilities encompass the development and execution of engaging classroom and clinical experiences aimed at equipping students with the necessary competencies for successful program completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and assess student performance against course objectives, providing timely feedback to foster academic success.
  • Offer academic guidance to students regarding curriculum pathways, scheduling, and career opportunities.
  • Address student concerns promptly, following the established communication protocols.
  • Exhibit cultural sensitivity and inclusivity towards students from diverse backgrounds and those with disabilities.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the nursing field relevant to teaching and professional duties.
  • Engage in professional development and participate in college service initiatives as mandated for licensure and contractual obligations.
  • Be prepared to teach during both day and evening sessions as per program requirements.
  • Contribute to peer mentoring efforts and demonstrate progress towards fulfilling tenure requirements.
  • Continuously enhance instructional quality through professional development and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Actively participate in college and divisional meetings, committees, and activities.
  • Support the accreditation process by engaging in nursing committee activities.
  • Create and share course materials with fellow faculty and program leadership.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methodologies and materials to accommodate varying student learning styles.
  • Maintain accurate student records and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Review and recommend textbooks and learning resources for courses.
  • Teach courses at various times and locations as needed by the institution.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and facilities, reporting any needs for replacement or repair.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • A minimum of 1600 hours or three years of nursing experience in a long-term care environment.
  • Unencumbered Ohio registered nursing license.
  • Proficiency and enthusiasm for utilizing technology in educational settings.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation for clinical site visits.
  • Availability for evening and occasional weekend hours as required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands typical of an acute care nursing role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Two years of experience in nursing education.
  • Familiarity with Ohio Board of Nursing regulations.
  • Current Train the Trainer Certification.
  • Certified Nurse Educator credential.
  • Experience with simulation-based teaching.

  • Self-motivated with strong management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse populations.
  • Competence in employing various classroom technologies and instructional methodologies.
  • Experience with collaborative learning techniques and applied academic methods.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, and accreditation standards.

Compensation: $64,997 (with master's degree), $70,590 (with doctorate)
