Job Title: Adjunct Mathematics Instructor

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College invites qualified candidates to teach mathematics or statistics courses at the first-year or second-year college level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
  • Prepare all course materials and lessons, with preparation time varying based on instructor experience.
  • Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved syllabi.
  • Design and administer examinations to assess achievement of course objectives.
  • Post student grades on the learning management system in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and retain student attendance and other records.
  • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule.
  • Consult with academic area chairs or other College personnel on course curricula, instructional strategies, and College policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in mathematics or a mathematically-intensive area of study (e.g., physics, electrical or mechanical engineering).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to interact successfully with academic and business personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching or working in higher education.
  • Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds and life experiences.
  • Ability to build or enhance proficiency in the use of diverse methods of classroom technology and innovative instructional/academic support systems and programs.
