Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct English Instructor to join our faculty at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. As a key member of our academic team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in English Composition courses, creating engaging learning environments, and fostering student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English Composition courses, including writing process, rhetoric, research, and documentation
  • Develop and implement course materials, assignments, and assessments to support student learning outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, progress, and attendance using online learning management systems
  • Participate in start and end of term responsibilities, including submission of final grades and no-show rosters
Requirements
  • Master's degree in English Literature, Professional/Technical Writing, or related field with 18 graduate credit hours in English and Literature
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency with online communication and record-keeping tools
  • Experience teaching or industry experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of teaching or industry experience
  • Experience using online learning management systems
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and backgrounds
  • Ability to employ a range of classroom/instructional technologies
  • Flexible availability, including evening and weekends
