We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative II to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and admission process for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and facilitate registrations and admissions by obtaining demographic, financial, and insurance information from patients.
- Ensure timely registration and promote patient satisfaction by providing excellent customer service.
- Verify accuracy of patient demographic information to avoid duplicating medical records.
- Follow department procedures when a duplicate medical record assignment is made.
- Comply with organizational policies on Advance Directives and Patient Rights.
- Provide patients with regulatory documents, obtain required signatures, and witness patient signatures.
- Maintain department productivity by asking for additional duties when patient flow permits.
- Make customer needs a priority and provide direct observation of customer service being performed by other organizational members.
- Escalate issues to leadership when necessary and reflect commitment to building a supportive work environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service experience.
- Minimum of 3 years Patient Access experience.
- Knowledge in all aspects of registration, Non-Federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care.
- Medical terminology and computer skills.
