Seattle, Washington, United States Unavailable Full time
Overview

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health offers a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses to specialize in serving patients with and without AIDS who require end-of-life care. This includes those with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease), Huntington's disease, or any illness limiting a person's life expectancy to less than three months.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Bailey-Boushay House, a nationally recognized model for HIV care. Our team provides around-the-clock nursing care focused on the needs of the patient and their loved ones.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse at Bailey-Boushay House, you will:

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including therapists, social workers, nursing assistants, and dietary staff.
  • Provide care to patients in both the outpatient program serving 320 individuals and the 35-bed inpatient program.
  • Respect and honor the social and cultural diversity of our patients and their families.
  • Support patients facing the end of life medically, emotionally, and spiritually in an environment that emphasizes quality of life.
  • Treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

As an employee of Virginia Mason, you will enjoy the emotional benefits of working at a nonprofit facility, with a higher level of compensation than typical social service agencies.

Qualifications

Current Washington State licensure as an RN, CPR certification, and graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing are required. Understanding of chemical dependency, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of HIV/AIDS disease progression are also essential.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health/dental/vision, FSA, matching retirement plans, paid vacation, adoption assistance, and annual bonus eligibility. Join us in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
