Position Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable Warehouse Associate to enhance our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the receipt of materials, loading and unloading shipments, and coordinating freight carriers for efficient pick-up and delivery. You will also maintain accurate records of material quantities using our inventory management system, ensuring compliance with company standards while keeping the warehouse organized and tidy.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading trucks and scheduling freight carriers.
- Interpret customer orders, work orders, and shipping requests to determine items to be moved or shipped.
- Organize materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established criteria such as size, type, or product code.
- Process sales orders and distribute items to the appropriate shipping or assembly areas.
- Maintain accurate records of materials received or distributed using designated software.
- Ensure compliance with company standards by weighing and counting items prior to distribution.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment at all times.
- Utilize resources efficiently to achieve operational goals.
Essential Competencies
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with precision.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Possess a basic understanding of product codes and terminology.
- Utilize analytical skills to make informed inventory decisions.
- Perform basic mathematical operations in various units of measure.
- Experience with computer software is preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting.
- Required: Experience operating a forklift.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of the flooring industry is advantageous.
- Experience with RFMS systems is beneficial.
