Job Summary:

The Clinical Staff position at Think Whole Person Healthcare is responsible for coordinating and implementing care plans for patients under the direct supervision of a healthcare provider. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to ensure seamless patient care services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care services, including preparation of patients for examination or treatment, gathering of information, and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, and document findings in the EHR.
• Ensure accurate documentation, relay instructions to patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and maintain timely patient flow.
• Collect and/or assist providers in collection of specimens, as required, using appropriate protocols.
• Adhere to infection control standards, including hand hygiene, use of PPE, isolation of patients with known infectious diseases, and equipment disinfection/sterilization.
• Assist with special procedures and examinations following appropriate protocols, such as infection control, universal protocol, and patient identification.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of examination rooms, stock assigned rooms/cupboards, and ensure par levels of supplies are maintained.
• Complete and monitor required logs for equipment and medication, such as glucometer QC, refrigerator logs, and controlled substance tracking.
• Coordinate patient needs by communicating with various service providers throughout the clinic.
• Remain accountable for information provided via internal communication channels, including reading and responding in a timely manner.
• Answer phone calls and respond to patient messages within set guidelines and timeframes.
• Complete medication refills in accordance with clinic protocol.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to achieve certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, etc.).
• An active medication aid and American Heart Associate BLS/CPR certification required.
• One (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant, utilizing electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

This role operates in a healthcare setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, and computer work. The employee must be able to stand 75% or longer of the workday, walk 15% or longer of the workday, and sit 10% of the workday. The employee must also be able to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds occasionally and perform repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and computer use.
