Position Overview

The Food and Beverage Operations Manager plays a vital role within the management team, directly reporting to the General Manager. This position is accountable for overseeing all aspects of food and beverage services at the facility, while also supporting the General Manager in managing the overall operations. Key responsibilities include budget implementation, staff recruitment, training, and supervision.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in food and beverage management or the golf sector.
  • Proven supervisory, coaching, and staff development capabilities.
  • PGA Membership or registered apprentice status in good standing.
  • Experience in both a la carte and banquet service.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing a comprehensive golf facility with a focus on high-quality service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and POS systems.
  • Familiarity with club accounting practices.
  • Strong business acumen and a passion for the golf industry.
  • Experience in developing player engagement programs.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between the club and the community.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and self-driven.
  • Preferred college degree.
  • Knowledge of health regulations and liquor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage office operations to ensure effective communication.
  • Oversee all club functions in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Assist in the recruitment, development, and supervision of key management personnel.
  • Handle customer reservations for the golf course.
  • Daily management of Front of House food and beverage operations.
  • Support the General Manager with banquet and event sales.
  • Ensure proper setup and breakdown of banquet events.
  • Maintain client satisfaction by communicating throughout events.
  • Generate daily reports on rounds and sales for management review.
  • Coordinate individual, group, and tournament play as directed.
  • Monitor all aspects of play, ensuring safety and pace.
  • Conduct training sessions for Front of House food and beverage staff.
  • Oversee accounting procedures related to food and beverage operations.
  • Manage forecasting and budgeting for food and beverage services.
  • Implement and maintain marketing strategies to boost banquet business.
  • Assist in cash reconciliation and accounts receivable processes.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the property’s physical assets.
  • Foster positive relationships with board members, golfers, guests, and the community.
  • Ensure quality assurance and guest service training for all employees.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate efforts across all departments.
