As a Support Specialist with Xelerate, LLC, you will play a critical role in the educational and behavioral development of students with special needs. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality support services that enable students to reach their full potential.

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated professionals to provide essential support to students in school-based settings. As a Support Specialist, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized attention and support to students with mild to severe behavioral challenges in grades K-12.
  • Assist with managing behavioral issues, including physical and verbal aggressions, emotional outbursts, and challenges related to medically fragile students.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and provide support during episodes of elopement, self-injurious behaviors, and other special needs situations.
  • Facilitate toileting and diapering assistance, as needed, ensuring dignity and respect for students.
  • Use positive reinforcement strategies such as token economies, visual schedules, and sensory tools to help students meet their IEP goals and objectives.
  • Support social skills development, classroom engagement, and academic participation, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Training & Development

We offer comprehensive training and development opportunities to ensure our Support Specialists have the skills and knowledge required to excel in this role. This includes:

  • 4-hour online training in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) basics provided to ensure foundational knowledge and skills before starting.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities, including access to the Bridge Academy, which provides advanced coursework to enhance your skills and further your education in special education and ABA principles.

  • A salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma with at least 60 college credits, or higher education (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Must have 1 year of ABA experience.
  • School experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassion, patience, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
