Heavy Duty Diesel Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician B to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a critical member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our fleet by performing routine maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake system checks.
- Equipment Repair: Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other critical systems using advanced computerized diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Fleet Safety: Conduct thorough safety inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty diesel engine repair and maintenance, with a focus on preventative maintenance and safety protocols.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes; ability to use advanced diagnostic tools and software; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
