Job Summary

KPMG is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director to lead our Asset Management Tax team. As a key member of our Business Tax Services Group, you will be responsible for developing and communicating a strategic product direction for key platform modules, prioritizing and delivering projects to enable the tax practice's products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a strategic product direction, prioritization, and delivery for key platform modules to enable the tax practice's products and services.
  • Lead strategic large client engagements implementation and use of the platform modules within Asset Management (AM) Technology to provide high-touch service to strategic clients and teams and to drive growth and efficiency.
  • Improve profitability by implementing technology, driving standardization, and use of shared services across asset management.
  • Understand the broader asset management landscape and identify opportunities for growth and competitive technology advantage.
  • Act as tax technical SME for advising tax team and for platform modules across the asset management practice, supporting go-to-market activities and internal development initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage change initiatives; help to ensure smooth transitions and minimizing disruptions with the tax practice and clients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum fifteen years of progressive and recent IT program and project management and/or tax experience; preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment in one of the following tax areas: partnership, mutual fund, or securities transactions.
  • Experience with asset management tax compliance systems or tax professional background with Big 4 accounting firm experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong tax technical background in specific tax issues facing Partnerships, mutual funds, or securities/debt instruments, as well as familiarity with one or more of the following industries: real estate, financial services, hedge, private equity, credit, and/or oil and gas.
  • Deep understanding of how a Tax practice functions and how technology can enable its products and service while providing thought leadership and driving innovation.
  • Strong managerial and verbal/written communication skills.
