Job Title: Public Disclosure Administrative Specialist

Snohomish County Planning and Development Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Public Disclosure Administrative Specialist. This position will play a critical role in supporting the County's Public Records Officer in managing public records requests and ensuring compliance with the Washington Public Records Act (PRA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage public records requests, including tracking and assigning tasks to relevant departments and offices.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to requestors on public records procedures and policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to public records requests, including coordinating with departments and offices to provide responsive records.
  • Monitor and maintain records management systems, including the County's public records request tracking system.
  • Collaborate with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to ensure compliance with legal requirements and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a related field, plus one year of experience processing public disclosure requests or as a paralegal.
  • Strong knowledge of the Public Records Act (RCW 42.56) and principles of public records disclosure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate office computer systems with proficiency.
