Operations Supervisor

Urban Pathways is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cook to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and working closely with our management team to optimize the delivery of program goals and client services.
Responsibilities- Prepare and serve meals for the shift, ensuring high-quality food and excellent customer service.
- Plan and execute monthly food menus, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Wash and sanitize all dishes and kitchen equipment, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with kitchen maintenance and repairs, reporting any issues to the Director of Operations.
- Collaborate with the management team to optimize the delivery of program goals and client services.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- NYS Food Handlers Certificate or equivalent is required.
- CPR and First Aid certification are required within 3 months of hire.
- AED certification is preferred.
- Completion of recent PPD Test within one year of employment and annually thereafter is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in food preparation for a residential population of at least 50 is preferred.
- Knowledge of food and nutrition is essential.
- Experience working with homeless, mentally ill, and substance-abuse populations is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office are a plus.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Foreign languages are a plus.
