Job Title: Front Door Janitor

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Front Door Janitor to join our team at The Salvation Army Central Territory. As a Front Door Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our store, ensuring a positive experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, floors, and surfaces
  • Monitor the front door and customer purchases during business hours
  • Perform routine maintenance of housekeeping equipment and keep janitorial closet in a tidy and clean manner
  • Remove snow and other debris from around the perimeter of the building
  • Light painting and other maintenance, as needed
  • Greet customers as they enter and exit the store
  • Observe customers while shopping to help deter potential theft

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 6 months or more experience in a related field
  • Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system
  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies and their use
  • Knowledge of standard hand tools and equipment
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken

Working Conditions: The work environment is fast-paced and may be loud or busy at times. The participant will be occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions and varying temperatures.
