Job Summary

Cross Creek Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Admissions Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our admissions department, you will be responsible for facilitating the admissions process for incoming patients, ensuring a seamless transition into our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries about our facility, providing clear and concise information within established timeframes.
  • Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, communicating recommendations to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
  • Coordinate admission and transfer between levels of care within the facility, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Communicate projected admissions to internal representatives in a timely manner, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Perform insurance benefit verifications, disseminating information to patients, families, and facility staff.
  • Ensure all medical admission documentation is gathered from external sources prior to patient admission, securing initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
  • Assist individual therapists with concurrent reviews with insurance companies to secure continued treatment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate peer-to-peer reviews when needed, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status in the admissions process, communicating treatment recommendations to and coordinating with other treatment teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum one year experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the area of specialty for the hiring facility.
  • Licensure, as required for the area of clinical specialty, i.e., RN license, CAC or other clinical counseling or therapy license, as designated by the state in which the facility operates.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
