Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a CT/MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating Computed Tomography (CT) and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, preparing patients for examination, and ensuring that proper information has been obtained for the physician to make a diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT/MRI equipment to administer procedures, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, and biopsies.
  • Prepare patients for exams by positioning them on the exam table and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Key in patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisitions completed by radiologists.
  • Calculate the number of scans to be obtained based on patient size and operate CT/MRI equipment to ensure required images are obtained.
  • Transmit cases to on-call radiologists through the Tele-Radiology system.
  • Administer intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents as per radiologist orders.
  • Verify patient information, calculate contrast doses, and perform venipuncture as necessary.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.) required for positions filled after September 5, 2010.
  • ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required within eighteen (18) months of entry date into position.
  • Certification in IV Contrast Administration required within six (6) months of entry date into position.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, required.
