Position Overview

We are seeking an Android Developer to join our Mobile Team and contribute to the development of innovative Android applications that seamlessly integrate with our service platform. This role will report directly to the Director of Mobile and involves responsibilities related to application architecture, development, and the introduction of new features to enhance consumer mobile solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Android design and development, having successfully launched one or more applications on the Google Play Store. This position is hands-on, requiring not only technical expertise but also the ability to transform diverse and evolving requirements into actionable plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of mobile applications for the Android platform.
  • Engage in code reviews, wireframe designs, and proof of concept initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to analyze and resolve production issues and defects.
  • Coordinate with the Release Engineering team during app deployment activities.
  • Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including meetings, iterative development, estimations, and design sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a technical lead role with a deep understanding of Android UX and UI design principles.
  • At least 5 years of comprehensive knowledge of Java, Android Studio, Gradle, and other integrated development environment (IDE) tools.
  • Strong foundation in Object-Oriented programming with experience in applying OO design patterns.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing high-volume mobile applications.
  • Proficient in integrating with RESTful API backends.
  • A desire to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills for technical specifications, along with strong estimating and planning abilities.
  • Proven capability to communicate effectively across teams and roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, maintaining high quality and budget adherence.
  • Experience in managing full life cycle engagements.
  • A proactive approach to working in a high-pressure, client-focused environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% for onshore and offshore engagements, including conferences.
