Position Overview

This role will collaborate closely with the Marketing Director to promote the venue and its events while fostering strong relationships with media outlets and promotional partners.

The Marketing Specialist will support various functions including graphic design, advertising, digital media, ticketing analysis, promotions, public relations, and grassroots marketing initiatives for assigned events.

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $19 to $22.00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee event day operations, including pre-event promotions, meet and greets, and media interactions.
  • Draft written agreements outlining negotiated terms.
  • Assist the Marketing Director in developing and coordinating advertising programs and promotional materials.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly marketing reports and participate in conference calls with other organizational entities.
  • Compile reports on public relations progress, marketing effectiveness, ticketing analysis, demographics, and economic trends.
  • Support the sales team in creating sales presentations and promotional content.
  • Manage daily digital marketing efforts across platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and Google Analytics.
  • Coordinate marketing activities with promoters, artist management, and local media.
  • Assist in pitching stories, writing press releases, organizing public relations events, and executing media outreach.
  • Oversee grassroots marketing initiatives, including poster distribution, community engagement, and expanding marketing campaigns.
  • Generate innovative ideas to attract new events and enhance promotions for booked events.
  • Update the website and manage digital display systems.
  • Maintain the database and execute email marketing campaigns.
  • Develop new marketing strategies to maximize ticket sales through partnerships and new media channels.
  • Recruit and supervise student interns or part-time marketing staff.
  • Participate in the development and execution of event marketing plans and promotions.
  • Perform graphic design tasks using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere.
  • Engage with venue, community, and corporate groups to foster collaboration and promote local events.
  • Collaborate with other departments on various projects.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality/Sports Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and interest in marketing and advertising.
  • Intermediate to strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of branding concepts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • One or more years of experience in event or entertainment marketing is preferred.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and event days as needed.
  • A collaborative team player with creativity and problem-solving skills.
