The Civil Engineer at Cash Waggner & Associates will play a crucial role in establishing our new office and will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of our organization.

This position involves the design, planning, and oversight of various infrastructure and site development projects, including but not limited to buildings, bridges, roads, dams, pipelines, and water and sewage systems.


Key Responsibilities:
Direct and manage field crew operations.

Provide expert consultation and guidance to project stakeholders and management regarding engineering specifications for the construction of diverse designs, modifications, and structural repairs.

Utilize design software and drafting tools to effectively communicate and render designs; plan and design related systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulic systems.

Evaluate the integrity of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel through material and soil testing.
Establish design specifications by calculating load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and other relevant parameters.

Plan projects based on a thorough analysis of pertinent materials, including drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, survey reports, maps, and other geological and topographical data.

Prepare and present reports on project-related topics, such as environmental impact assessments and right-of-way descriptions.
Estimate the materials, equipment, and labor necessary to determine project costs.
Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure the smooth progression of projects.

Work alongside surveyors (or lead and participate in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors impacting construction.

Monitor project advancement and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards.
Upon project completion, inspect, repair, and maintain structures as required.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software.

In-depth knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction or repair of buildings, bridges, roads, and other related structures.

Strong understanding of safety regulations relevant to assigned projects.
Ability to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Capacity to be both innovative and analytical.
Highly detail-oriented and precise.

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Licensure is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Willingness to travel to various project sites.
Ability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
Salary and hourly wages are commensurate with experience.
