New Port Richey, Florida, United States The Kidz Club Full time
Job Overview

Position Title: Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at TKC Therapy

About Our Organization:
TKC Therapy is dedicated to delivering exceptional and intensive physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and speech therapy (ST) services to children enrolled at The Kidz Club (TKC), a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) facility. Our PPEC center offers daily skilled nursing care to children with complex medical needs, ranging from infancy to young adulthood.

What We Seek:
We are in search of an SLP who possesses experience in pediatric feeding and/or both high- and low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as these areas constitute a significant portion of our caseload. Our caseload primarily involves early intervention and play-based therapy approaches. The children we serve vary from NICU-discharged infants to young adults with mobility challenges. A successful candidate must be adept at working with this diverse population.

This environment emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, applied behavior analysts, nurses, and caregivers, while being familiar with basic medical terminology and procedures.

Our clientele includes medically-complex children, some of whom may exhibit behavioral challenges. Therefore, a strong foundation in therapeutic interventions for unique cases and the ability to manage disruptive behaviors is essential.

We operate on a fee-for-service model, which means compensation is based on the hours billed directly with each child. This structure allows for flexible scheduling; however, it also requires a diligent, self-motivated individual with excellent time management skills.

Above all, we value a candidate with a friendly demeanor, quick thinking, a passion for assisting children with special needs, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and diagnose a range of speech, language, and feeding disorders for clients aged birth to 21.
  2. Create personalized treatment plans following comprehensive assessments to address communication and swallowing challenges.
  3. Implement evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of each client during therapy sessions.
  4. Ensure timely and thorough documentation and treatment planning.
  5. Educate and support clients, families, and caregivers on strategies for effective therapy carry-over at home.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and fellow therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
  7. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with advancements in the field.
  8. Comply with ethical and professional standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing authorities.

Qualifications:

  1. A master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution, along with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA and state licensure from the Florida Department of Health.
  2. Clinical experience with the pediatric population, particularly in medical settings, is highly preferred.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  4. Proficiency in standardized assessment tools, therapeutic interventions, and relevant assistive technologies.
  5. Commitment to maintaining professional standards and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  6. Current CPR (BLS) certification.

Employee Benefits:

  • Flexible scheduling options, allowing therapists to determine start/end times and daily patient scheduling, provided productivity goals are met.
  • Higher compensation rates for evaluations and re-evaluations.
  • 401K plan and student loan reimbursement.
  • Health benefits or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
  • Vision and dental insurance.
  • Life insurance options (basic and voluntary).
  • Long-term care insurance with death benefits.
  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance packages.
  • Closed on nights, Sundays, and major holidays.

Compensation:
$35-40/hour
