Key Responsibilities

The Senior Tax Analyst will collaborate with team members to manage Exelon's comprehensive tax life cycle, which encompasses a variety of functions such as:

  • Tax Accounting: Assist in the interim and annual tax accounting processes, ensuring precise and timely reporting for income taxes and other tax obligations. This includes preparing and documenting necessary calculations and tax positions.
  • Tax Compliance: Support the tax compliance efforts by preparing federal and state income tax calculations, returns, extensions, and estimated payments. Engage in research and documentation of tax positions and manage responses to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Financial Forecasting: Contribute to the financial tax forecasting process by preparing projections for income tax and other tax obligations, along with scenario modeling.
  • Regulatory Filings: Aid in the preparation of regulatory filings, including rate case submissions and responses to regulatory data requests.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct independent research on complex tax issues to determine appropriate tax treatments and reporting requirements, including the preparation of written memorandums and technical presentations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements that promote risk management and streamline tax workflows. Participate in project planning and support special initiatives, including the adoption of new technologies.

Job Scope

This role is situated within the Tax Department and may involve limited travel to various office locations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related financial discipline.
  • A minimum of four years of professional tax experience, particularly with large publicly traded companies.
  • Intermediate legal research capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical skills for resolving complex issues.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to developing tax technical and communication expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the energy sector is advantageous.
  • Certification as a CPA or other financial credential, along with an advanced degree (JD or MST) is preferred.
