Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our team as a Sanitation Worker I. As a key member of our public works department, you will be responsible for collecting and disposing of waste in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and transport garbage bags from individual yards or locations along a designated route
  • Operate a hoisting device to lift refuse bins onto the truck
  • Dump bags into the truck's enclosed body
  • Assist in unloading and cleaning the garbage truck at the dump site
  • May gather separated recycling materials and dump them into recycling bins
  • May assist in the operation of a picker
  • May deliver garbage bags to individual houses by unloading bags from the truck and carrying them to the front yard
Requirements
  • No educational or prior experience requirements
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, often while running or jogging
  • Visual ability to avoid obstacles and identify hazardous conditions
