About the Role

North Bay Children's Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Garden Educator to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for implementing our innovative Garden of Eatin' Living Curriculum education programs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver effective lessons that capture students' curiosity and enthusiasm for gardening, sustainability, and healthy living.
  • Implement innovative and research-based teaching methodologies to enhance the impact and effectiveness of the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the Garden Team to create a hands-on and experiential learning environment.
  • Participate in curriculum-related seasonal crop planning and plant selection.
  • Maintain a bountiful year-round organic edible garden.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as weeding, watering, planting, site cleanup, and soil cultivation.
  • Implement sustainable gardening practices to promote the health and growth of plants and trees.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering education programs in a garden-based or outdoor setting.
  • A genuine passion for experiential learning and a strong commitment to children's growth and development.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving educational environment.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and the ability to make informed decisions.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive hourly wage range of $23-$35.33 per hour, depending on experience. Additional benefits include a comprehensive employee rights package, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a supportive work environment.
