Position Overview

Wood County Hospital is seeking applications for the role of Patient Access Associate/Registration Representative. This position is essential in ensuring a smooth and organized admission process for both inpatients and outpatients. The Patient Access Associate is responsible for collecting accurate patient information and ensuring that individuals are informed about hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects and verifies demographic, contact, insurance, and primary care physician details
  • Digitally archives insurance documentation for interdepartmental use
  • Secures necessary consent signatures for treatment and insurance billing
  • Engages in follow-up activities on patient accounts, collaborating with the Revenue Cycle team
  • Maintains effective communication with Nursing Supervisors and other departments to facilitate direct admissions and manage patients without physician orders

Work Schedule:

Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift: Daytime hours

Participation in weekend and on-call rotations is required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment
