Environmental Scientist III

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist III to join our team at King County. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing scientific and technical support for environmental programs and projects, including developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, conducting environmental assessments and monitoring, and providing training and technical assistance to staff and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct environmental assessments and monitoring to identify potential environmental impacts and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff and stakeholders on environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to develop and implement environmental programs and projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, businesses, and government agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental science, policy, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and policies, including federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to various locations throughout King County, including meetings with stakeholders and site visits.
