Job Description

This Senior Principal Small Satellite Systems Engineer position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in the development of space systems for challenging environments and missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality solutions for small satellite programs, including requirements definition, system design, integration, test, verification, and validation.
  • Serve as a focal point for technical issues and functions, coordinating between engineering teams.
  • Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters/algorithms, and ensure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
  • Create, track, and maintain requirements in Jama Tool.
  • Perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues with other SMEs and product teams.
  • Mentor Systems Engineering Team members.
  • Support design/development of test tooling (simulation, models, report/analysis tools, EGSE) for SW and HW testing.
  • Write technical policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support business development efforts for proposals/bids.
Requirements

We require a Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 16-18 years' experience in a broad background in systems engineering. A Master's degree with 15 years of related experience may also be considered.

Ideal Experience:

  • Experience with MBSE (Model-Based System Engineering).
  • Experience with NASA/DoD lifecycle reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Experience with requirement tracking tools such as DOORs, Jama, Cradle.
  • US citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Salary Estimate: $125,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience.
