Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Yard Jockey Driver to join our team at Oldcastle APG, Inc. in Quakertown, PA. As a Yard Jockey Driver, you will be responsible for loading and moving materials within the yard for a mulch and soil manufacturer. This is a high-activity role that requires availability to work overtime hours as needed in a fast-paced operation.

Responsibilities
  • Select and stage trailers for loading and transport, as well as maneuver trailers in and out of tight spaces.
  • Perform routine pre & post trip inspections on vehicles and trailers to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Properly secure and strap heavy loads for travel, and demonstrate proficiency in Forklift Certification Training.
  • Successfully complete Decision Driving Safety course, including written test and observed road test.
  • Check all load-related documentation (logs & records) for completeness and accuracy.
  • Physically fit to climb and perform tasks.
  • Able to distinguish proper inventory via SKUs and labeling and communicate effectively with dispatch, Scale House, and shipping departments.
  • Ability to work independently and possess great attention to detail.
  • Cross training to support site needs throughout the year in Machine/Forklift/Heavy Equipment Operating positions.
  • Willingness to adhere to all Company Safety Policies, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment when required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of truck driving experience.
  • The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level.
  • The need to lift over 65 lbs. may arise from time to time; employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift.
  • The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and whole body, including bending, crouching, climbing, using steps and ladders, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
