Job Summary

The Academy Charter Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Counselor to join our team. As a School Counselor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties that impact their academic success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to identify and address student needs, and develop strategies to promote positive school adjustments and healthy development.
  • Community Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and organizations to provide students and families with access to resources and support services.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in school counseling and to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to inform school counseling programs and services, and to measure their effectiveness.
Requirements
  • NYS Certification in School Counseling: Must hold a valid New York State certification in School Counseling.
  • Masters Degree in School Counseling: Must hold a Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary Range: $62,500 - $98,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
