About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Assistant to join our elite oral surgery practice. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgeons in delivering outstanding clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by performing tasks such as tissue retraction, intravenous line management, and documentation.
  • Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Verify patient identity and operative site.
  • Discuss surgical procedures with surgeons, including operative consent and exposure methods.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
  • Ensure an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning and irrigating equipment.
  • Determine availability of necessary equipment and supplies for operative procedures.
  • Obtain and inspect sterile and non-sterile surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Operate sterilization devices.
  • Monitor patient intraoperative status.
  • Obtain dental radiographs and dental imaging.
  • Complete patient clinical narratives.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification required or the ability to complete within 1 month of hire.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred.
  • DAANCE certification preferred.
  • Licensed dental assistant preferred.
  • Radiology certification preferred.
