We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit at Fort Loudoun Medical Center. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Initiate admission database and history, and collaborate with the RN to implement patient and family teaching and care needs.
- Practice in compliance with all regulatory standards and adhere to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties.
- Perform and prioritize nursing care tasks, accurately following the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of RN.
- Observe and report nursing interventions and patient responses, and document in a timely, concise and legible manner.
- Recognize, respond and report changes in patient conditions to RN Team Leader.
- Participate in unit specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences as requested.
- Demonstrate principles of infection control, collaborating with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel.
- Assist in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.
- Demonstrate competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards, completing required education assignments annually, working toward achieving goals and objectives, and participating in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
