Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all shipping, receiving, and packing operations conducted by warehouse staff, ensuring high visibility and accessibility on the warehouse floor.
- Establish and uphold departmental standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
- Review, prioritize, and organize all orders for picking and shipping during the shift.
- Schedule maintenance for equipment as needed during breakdowns.
- Manage the flow of paperwork related to receiving and shipping.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, addressing any discrepancies related to warehouse operations.
- Forecast staffing needs to accommodate peak business demands, training and motivating the team while addressing personnel issues.
- Collaborate with the warehouse manager on personnel matters, including vacation approvals and time card management.
- Lead by example, participating in loading trucks and other essential duties.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including report preparation and correspondence.
- Supervise receiving personnel in the order picking and packing process.
- Assist the warehouse manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance among staff.
- Support inventory management activities, overseeing the inventory control process.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation within the warehouse environment.
- Resolve warehouse-related issues in coordination with other departments.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all operational systems relevant to the work area.
- Implement and uphold safety programs and training for the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Directly supervise a team of 10-20 warehouse employees.
- Execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as evaluating performance and addressing employee concerns.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the warehousing sector.
- Proven experience in supervising staff.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
