Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in leading transportation infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for planning and administering medium to large transportation infrastructure projects, providing leadership in the design of efficient and constructable civil projects, and estimating and budgeting labor hours for design projects.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer medium to large transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Provide leadership in the design of efficient and constructable civil projects.
  • Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports and take corrective action, as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met.
  • Mentor young design professionals.
  • Participate in business development opportunities.
  • Participate in professional organizations and functions.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience as a consulting engineer providing design and project management of local agency or state transportation projects.
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering and professional registration (P.E) in Washington and/or Oregon.
  • A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints.
  • A proven history of meeting project timelines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated skills developing relationships with local municipalities and utilities.
  • Familiarity with local code requirements.
  • Ability to develop creative engineering solutions to address project constraints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management.
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, HyrdoCAD, WWHM2012.
