Position Overview

Responsible for overseeing and managing Pouch production processes.

Primary Objective

To ensure effective coordination across all aspects of Pouch operations while fostering communication with other relevant departments within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • All personnel at Crider Foods are expected to adhere to and support all Food Safety and Quality protocols to guarantee our products meet and surpass consumer expectations.
  • Supervisors must focus on five critical areas to enhance productivity and effectiveness:
    1. Safety
    2. Quality
    3. Yield
    4. Labor Cost
    5. Foreign Material
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels in the department, collaborating with Human Resources to address any needs.
  • Supervise the completion of necessary paperwork and documentation, ensuring timely submission of production data.
  • Anticipate future production requirements to proactively address potential issues.
  • Supervisors should consistently monitor their production lines during operations.
  • Document and report any accidents or near misses involving team members to the nurse and notify the direct manager immediately.
  • Maintain awareness of daily and weekly labor costs to minimize expenses within the department.
  • Conduct bi-monthly meetings with team members to reinforce food safety training and discuss new, more efficient processes.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization are maintained throughout the shift.
  • Report any downtime exceeding 10 minutes or recurring issues to the maintenance supervisor or lead person on duty, as well as the production manager.
  • Prioritize safety and quality in all supervisory activities.
  • Continuously monitor product yields, downtime, efficiency, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure effectiveness in all departmental areas.
  • Submit an end-of-shift report summarizing issues not captured in downtime reports, attendance, disciplinary actions, and other requested KPIs by the Pouch Manager.
  • Ensure all line paperwork is accurately completed before submission to the appropriate personnel. Supervisors are also responsible for entering employee time into the system.
  • Follow established procedures to prepare for a successful workday.
  1. Print a fresh specification sheet before starting the shift.
  2. Ensure all necessary production paperwork is printed.
  3. Verify that the product being processed aligns with the designated specifications.
  4. Complete the startup/setup/shutdown checklist relevant to the shift being supervised.
  • Production supervisors are entitled to two 30-minute breaks during each shift.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pouch Manager.
  • In the absence of key personnel, a trained employee will assume the responsibilities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of operational mechanics.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as they relate to further processing.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively address workplace issues.
  • Ability to mentor and develop employees into leaders.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift weights up to 40 pounds.
  • Work Requirements: 10-12 hours per day, including 2-4 weekends per month.

Food Safety Sign-Off: All team members at Crider Foods must comply with food safety requirements and report any food safety issues to management. All documentation should be completed at the time of the activity, ensuring records are clear, concise, and authorized by those conducting monitoring tasks. This position may involve inspection and verification of records.
