Job Summary

Cameron University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to provide administrative support to the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. The successful candidate will assist faculty members with various tasks, maintain student records, and perform other related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of student files and rosters, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Compose, type, and proofread correspondence, reports, and other materials, demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Work in student information systems and databases to maintain student records and perform data entry tasks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, responding to general inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Update and maintain the university's website, digital displays, and other online platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records, adhering to FERPA guidelines and university policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by faculty members or supervisors.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Able to demonstrate accurate English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Willingness to take initiative and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Good academic standing and enrollment in a Cameron University graduate program.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, within Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Access databases.
  • Experience with digital media design and Adobe applications (Acrobat, PhotoShop, InDesign).
  • Ability to perform regular website, social media, and digital display updates.
