We are looking for a clinical psychologist to enhance our expanding psychology team. This role is situated within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, focusing on providing services to collegiate student-athletes. There are opportunities to innovate and expand clinical services tailored for these athletes. The position entails collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support student-athletes facing pre-existing and newly developed behavioral health challenges related to sports injuries and performance.

This role presents excellent prospects for involvement in training and research, aligned with the candidate's interests. Faculty members at Akron Children's Hospital actively engage in the education of psychology and neuropsychology fellows, psychology practicum students, and medical residents and fellows. Research opportunities are plentiful for faculty members with a keen interest.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology, sports psychology, or counseling psychology is required, along with the completion of an internship in an APA/CPA-accredited program. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in Ohio and have completed a formal fellowship or postdoctoral program. Experience working with elite and collegiate athletes is preferred. Certification as a CMPC is advantageous. Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology must be achieved within five years of employment.
