Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our building and grounds, as well as related fixed and portable equipment and installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical equipment and machinery problems.
  • Operate and maintain building systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory standards and other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement a maintenance program to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve maintenance goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • EPA universal CFC certification within 90 days.
  • 2 years experience working with equipment repair and troubleshooting and diagnosing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery problems.
  • 2 years experience with building systems and equipment and capable of building a maintenance program in accordance with all healthcare regulatory standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
  • Healthcare experience acquired in a similar environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/prioritize work.
  • Employee must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and procedures for repairing and maintaining the system.
  • Advanced knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of procedures, materials and tools used in commercial building remodels and cabinet construction.
  • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades.
  • Through knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the building trades.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop an effective course of action.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the job.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
