Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our building and grounds, related fixed and portable equipment, and installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including plant operation and maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
  • Inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance programs to ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards and other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • EPA universal CFC certification within 90 days.
  • 2 years of experience working with equipment repair and troubleshooting and diagnosing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery problems.
  • 2 years of experience with building systems and equipment, and capable of building a maintenance program in accordance with all healthcare regulatory standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
  • Healthcare experience acquired in a similar environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/prioritize work.
  • Employee must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and procedures for repairing and maintaining the system.
  • Advanced knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration, and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of procedures, materials, and tools used in commercial building remodels and cabinet construction.
  • Advanced knowledge of uniform electrical and building codes.
  • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades.
  • Through knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in the building trades.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop an effective course of action.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the job.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

Working Conditions:

  • Nights.
