Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our building and grounds, related fixed and portable equipment, and installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks, including plant operation and maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
- Inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance programs to ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards and other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Requirements:
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- EPA universal CFC certification within 90 days.
- 2 years of experience working with equipment repair and troubleshooting and diagnosing a wide variety of mechanical equipment and machinery problems.
- 2 years of experience with building systems and equipment, and capable of building a maintenance program in accordance with all healthcare regulatory standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
- Healthcare experience acquired in a similar environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/prioritize work.
- Employee must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and procedures for repairing and maintaining the system.
- Advanced knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration, and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of procedures, materials, and tools used in commercial building remodels and cabinet construction.
- Advanced knowledge of uniform electrical and building codes.
- Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades.
- Through knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in the building trades.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to analyze situations and develop an effective course of action.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the job.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Working Conditions:
- Nights.
- Variable days of the week.
- Saturday and Sunday.
