Exercise Physiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a critical role in implementing and supervising physical exercise programs for patients, providing patient testing and assessment, and planning and teaching exercise therapy.
Responsibilities- Implement and supervise physical exercise programs for patients
- Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation
- Plan and teach exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status, and current medication regimen
- Monitor patient's response and revise plan accordingly
- Recognize contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise
- Respond appropriately to all situations, including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals
- Provide exercise information for patients, peers, and the community, which may include public speaking and education classes
- Ensure department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly
- Prepare, develop, and maintain various files, records, reports; schedule patient appointments as required
- Provide oversight to department activities in the absence of the manager
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
