Position Overview

The Energy Efficiency Program Manager plays a pivotal role in crafting and executing Measurement & Verification (M&V) strategies for energy efficiency initiatives, while also guiding junior engineers and analysts.

Key Responsibilities

As part of this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Formulating technical methodologies for M&V across diverse energy efficiency projects, adhering to relevant protocols.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to clients, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
  • Establishing and reviewing energy consumption baselines and adjustments utilizing statistical regression analysis and other suitable techniques.
  • Employing software tools such as Excel, Python, or R to analyze data, identify trends, optimize models, and summarize program outcomes.
  • Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams, providing essential technical support for their projects.
  • Creating and reviewing comprehensive building energy simulations using tools like eQUEST, Trane Trace, or similar software.
  • Engaging in research initiatives to maintain consistency and quality in research methodologies.
  • Conducting site visits to verify the installation of energy efficiency measures and gather relevant data for engineering analysis.
  • Reviewing project scopes, contracts, and construction documentation.

This is a Full-Time, Exempt position reporting to the Director of M&V.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of proven professional experience in M&V.
  • At least two years of experience in a managerial role overseeing direct reports.
  • Certification as a CMVP, PMVA, or an equivalent credential.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with commercial utility billing and rate structures.
  • A strong passion for energy efficiency, carbon reduction technologies, and clean energy solutions.
  • Experience in analyzing energy consumption in commercial and industrial systems using various analytical techniques.
  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of project management practices, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Proficiency in developing whole building energy models using Trane Trace/eQUEST.
  • Experience in reviewing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings.
  • Prior experience in deploying and installing power metering and data logging equipment.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel of up to 15% may be required for client meetings at job sites.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk for extended periods.
