Job Summary

Geisinger Health System is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Companion. In this role, you will provide a safe and supportive environment for patients who require constant observation and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, including maintaining a clean and private space.
  • Accompany patients to clinical tests, procedures, and appointments, and assist with meals and activities as needed.
  • Redirect impulsive and harmful behavior, and call for assistance when necessary.
  • Participate in report at the beginning and end of shift, and inform pertinent information to Registered Nurses.
  • Assist with bed making, activating bed alarms, and assisting staff with walking.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment and provide supportive care to patients
