Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Night Shift Team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including vital sign monitoring, blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
- Report any abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment by assisting with stocking, cleaning, and organizing patient rooms and common areas.
- Support patients with toileting, including bedpans, and assist with ambulation using walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
- Assist with feeding and fluid intake, measuring and recording as directed.
- Reposition patients as necessary and ensure patient cleanliness, providing linen changes as needed.
- Utilize proper patient identification systems to ensure accurate care.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification required.
- Registration on the Virginia Board of Nursing Aide Registry required, with CNA certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
- One year of experience as a CNA, Respiratory Care Assistant, Rehab Tech, Certified Medical Assistant, EKG Tech, EMT, Phlebotomist, or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
