Job Summary:

Blue Ridge Community Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their journey of recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an array of support services and interventions to inspire hope, support personal responsibility, and promote self-advocacy and self-determination.
  • Utilize outreach and engagement skills to build relationships with clients and their support networks.
  • Teach harm reduction strategies and promote healthy decision-making.
  • Explore alternatives to prevent hospitalization and support clients in accessing community resources.
  • Promote self-advocacy by facilitating clients' learning about their human and legal rights.
