Division Overview:


Crown's Beverage Division specializes in producing a diverse range of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, teas, and emerging energy beverages.

Our Beverage Division is at the forefront of the packaging sector, utilizing cutting-edge technologies that transform the perception of beverage cans. This is an opportunity to join the Crown Beverage Division.

Position Overview:


The Plant Engineer is expected to demonstrate a strong desire and capability to oversee maintenance and repair across all plant areas.

As part of the team, the Plant Engineer will collaborate closely with the Operations Division.

The role involves supervising and coordinating all maintenance personnel to ensure an effective and efficient low-cost plant operation.


Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the responsibilities of the Plant Engineer include, but are not limited to:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Overseeing comprehensive wastewater treatment systems
Preparing and managing the departmental budget within established maintenance and repair guidelines
Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding air permits, wastewater discharge permits, OSHA safety standards, etc.
Maintaining plant quality performance standards
Managing and directing an engineering staff and workforce
Promoting a teamwork-oriented culture
Overseeing all safety-related matters within the engineering department
Planning and supervising Capital Expenditure projects, including equipment purchases and contracted labor
Providing emergency response for equipment repair and damage control as needed
Supporting EHS programs, including hazardous waste disposal initiatives
Delivering necessary training to both new and existing employees
Staying updated on technological advancements, including retrofitting machinery to comply with new laws and efficiency standards
Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, coupled with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
Proven knowledge and experience with modern equipment maintenance (TPM), high-speed forming presses, electrical systems, chilled water systems, compressed air systems, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, printing presses, and curing ovens
Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, including managing supervisors and hourly maintenance and repair staff
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Experience in capital project management, vendor, and contractor oversight
Experience managing repair expense budgets
Experience in implementing and maintaining a plant preventive maintenance program
Familiarity with CMMS, work orders, and spare parts processes
Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred Requirements:
Experience in the packaging industry
Certification in Six Sigma (Green, Black, or Master Black Belt) is desirable

Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various CAD software
Strong problem-solving skills and experience employing analytical approaches
Project management experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal and presentation abilities
Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects to completion
Ability to work independently and collaboratively using cooperative methods
Commitment to ongoing personal training and development

Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this role, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may need to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:
Job duties will be performed in both a plant environment and an office setting.
While executing job responsibilities, the associate may encounter moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
Exposure to a wide range of temperatures is possible, and the noise level is frequently loud.
