Our new facility, located in a technology and commerce center, is set to commence operations soon and will create numerous job opportunities.
This cutting-edge facility will focus on manufacturing specialty beverage cans for leading consumer product companies. We are in the process of building a top-tier team to operate this facility and are seeking a Plant Engineer to join the core team driving this initiative.Position Overview:
The Plant Engineer is expected to demonstrate a strong desire and capability to oversee maintenance and repair across all plant areas.
The primary role of the Plant Engineer involves supervising and coordinating all maintenance personnel to ensure effective and efficient low-cost plant operations.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the responsibilities of the Plant Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design, implement, and sustain preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Oversee comprehensive wastewater treatment systems
Prepare and manage departmental budgets within established maintenance and repair guidelines
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding air permits, wastewater discharge permits, OSHA safety standards, etc.
Maintain plant quality performance metrics
Direct and manage an engineering team and workforce
Promote a collaborative, teamwork-oriented environment
Oversee all safety-related matters within the engineering department
Plan and manage Capital Expenditure projects, including equipment purchases and contracted labor
Provide emergency response for equipment repair and damage control as needed
Support EHS programs, including hazardous waste disposal initiatives
Deliver necessary training to both new and existing employees
Stay updated on technological advancements to ensure compliance with new laws and efficiency standards
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
Proven knowledge and experience with modern equipment maintenance, high-speed forming presses, electrical systems, chilled water systems, compressed air systems, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, printing presses, and curing ovens
Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, including managing supervisors and hourly maintenance personnel
A collaborative mindset and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment
Experience in capital project management and vendor/contractor relations
Experience managing repair expense budgets
Experience in developing and maintaining a plant preventive maintenance program
Familiarity with CMMS, work orders, and spare parts processes
Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in the packaging industry
Certification in Six Sigma (Green, Black, or Master Black Belt) is desirable
Competencies:
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various CAD software
Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach
Project management experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal and presentation abilities
Proven ability to manage multiple projects to completion
Commitment to ongoing personal training and development.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this role, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may need to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Job duties will be performed in both a plant environment and an office setting.
While performing the duties of this role, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
The associate may encounter a wide range of temperatures and frequently loud noise levels.
