Position Overview:
The Nonprofit Program Management Intern will gain invaluable experience in the realm of program administration by assisting with various aspects of our programming initiatives. This role offers a comprehensive understanding of the operations within a dynamic nonprofit organization. The intern will collaborate closely with Program Directors, Senior Program Managers, Program Assistants, and Program Specialists to ensure the smooth execution of daily programming logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy of program logistics and maintain data within the organizational database.
  • Support daily operations at our program locations, including managing participant arrivals and overseeing snack breaks.
  • Facilitate communication with program providers, participants, and their families.
  • Monitor participant enrollment and attendance records.
  • Verify that participants meet program requirements prior to any award distribution.
  • Assist the Programs department with expense tracking and data entry tasks.
  • Address inquiries related to teen programs and guide participants in utilizing their personalized dashboards.
  • Foster a sense of community by creating necessary signage to enhance program flow.
  • Assist with special initiatives, events, and recruitment efforts as assigned.
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of program showcases.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Work Environment:
The work environment is characterized by a collaborative culture, emphasizing teamwork and communication. The intern will not be exposed to adverse weather conditions, and the noise level is typically moderate.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Education, Youth Development, or Social Work.
  • Prior participation in After School Matters programs is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A commitment to delivering respectful and empathetic service is essential.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Excellent time management abilities, with proficiency in various organizational tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
  • Experience with digital data entry is advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
