Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative for our organization. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth patient experience within our clinics.

Role Summary
The Patient Service Representative plays a crucial role in managing the patient check-in process, updating patient records, handling insurance details, and maintaining a multi-line phone system. Responsibilities also include managing medical records and processing co-pays and cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties
  • Conducts opening and closing procedures for the clinic
  • Welcomes patients, checks them in for appointments, and verifies their insurance information
  • Scans documents into the electronic health record system
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the waiting area and reception desk
  • Monitors schedules for added, canceled, and no-show appointments
  • Schedules follow-up appointments as necessary
  • Responds to assigned tasks within the electronic health record system
  • Orders and manages clinic office supplies
  • Tracks and sells cosmetic products
  • Handles mail distribution
  • Prepares for the next day's scheduled appointments
Qualifications

Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a medical office or similar environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Competence in operating standard office equipment.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and guidance from supervisors.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor are expected at all times.
  • Must exhibit a friendly, courteous, and compassionate attitude when interacting with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
