Fleet Technician Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Technician Lead to join our team at Frontier Waste Solutions. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of scheduled maintenance and repairs to all vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the supervision and performance of all phases of maintenance operations
  • Purchase and order maintenance supplies, equipment, and contract services within budget
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures to ensure optimal vehicle and equipment performance
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed by subordinates
  • Provide on-the-job training for maintenance technicians
  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Review and complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance records in accordance with Company policies and State and Federal regulations
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in Company fleet and component parts
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles
  • Schedule shifts for technicians and open and close work orders
  • Use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete vehicle repairs when necessary
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency and follow safety protocol
  • Monitor the cleanliness of work areas
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment and truck maintenance
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair
  • Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in heavy truck or automotive systems
  • Experience with welding a plus
  • Must possess own hand tools
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
  • Proficiency utilizing computer and software applications
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to climb, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move pounds
  • Exposure to physical occupational risks and physical environment often
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited automotive college or technical school
License and Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required
