Family Room Operations Specialist

Background:
· The Izzy Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families facing challenges due to childhood cancer and other serious medical conditions.
· Our mission is to create, fund, and inspire innovative projects and programs that allow families to experience joy and togetherness during difficult times.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide comprehensive administrative support for the coordination, development, and promotion of the Izzy Family Room.
· Manage meal provisions for the Izzy Family Room, including liaising with meal sponsors, organizing lunch orders, coordinating delivery volunteers, and ensuring meals are served effectively.
· Deliver leftover meals to families in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
· Supply snacks for the PICU family room when available.
· Assist in maintaining supplies and care for the Izzy Surgical Waiting Room.
· Collaborate with interns and volunteers to ensure effective staffing and program implementation in the Izzy Family Room.
· Organize community drives to maintain hygiene supplies for families in need.
· Oversee the functionality of appliances in the Family Room, including microwaves, coffee machines, and refrigerators.
· Ensure the Izzy Family Room storage area is organized and well-maintained.
· Participate in fundraising initiatives related to the needs of the Izzy Family Room.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
· Higher education credentials may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Required Skills:
● Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging with diverse populations.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
● Proficient in resource organization and priority setting.
● Confidence in training and guiding interns and volunteers.
● Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
● Capable of analyzing data for reporting and budgeting purposes.
● Familiarity with communication and marketing principles.
Working Conditions:
● Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for supply organization.
● Must have access to a vehicle for transporting supplies as needed.
● Position may involve exposure to healthcare settings with strict infection control protocols.
Additional Information:
· Part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week.
· Flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends.
