Patient Care Technician (PCT) - PRN / Per Diem

Sign-On Incentive:
$1,500

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts - both day and night options available

Compensation:
$20 per hour

Attractive shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts

Facility:
Select Specialty Hospital - Omaha

At Select Medical's Critical Illness Recovery Hospitals, you will be responsible for caring for some of the most vulnerable patients in your community. Our focus is on chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care.

We employ over 50,000 individuals nationwide and provide quality care to approximately 70,000 patients each day across our four divisions.


Key Responsibilities:
If you are motivated by the challenge of working with medically complex patients and are dedicated to delivering an outstanding patient care experience, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

- Provide essential services for patients, including bathing with basin-less products, oral hygiene, feeding assistance, and hair care.

- Respond to patient calls and perform necessary services promptly to enhance the physical well-being of each patient.

- Participate in hourly patient rounds.


- Assist in transporting patients to and from various treatment areas as needed; support transport staff in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.

- Ensure cleanliness of various instruments and equipment, such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.

- Maintain patient rooms in a clean and organized manner, including making beds.

- Manage unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.

Qualifications:


Demonstrate a clear understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued.

Exhibit a passion for delivering high-quality care and be an innovative problem solver who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment.


Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent OR relevant work experience (3+ years).

- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.


- Previous hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant, or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student is necessary.

Nursing students may be considered as nurse assistants if approved by the State Practice Act.
